About Me

I am a British CELTA qualified English language teacher living in Haarlem with my two fully bilingual children. I teach adults and children (6+) and give weekly tailor-made one-to-one and small group lessons, as well as intensive courses during the summer for those in a hurry.

I work with international families where English is a first or second language and help children maintain their level of English while being educated in a Dutch or International school. I also help students prepare for exams such as TOEFL, Cambridge Advanced English or IELTs to gain entry to college or University and I help adults with improving their conversational or written English whether it’s needed in the workplace or for social communication.

Teaching Style

I love teaching and seeing my students progress quickly, and above all enjoy having fun while learning!

I tailor my lessons to the student’s needs, paying particular attention to any difficulties they may encounter with pronunciation, intonation, spelling, syntax, grammar, vocabulary acquisition and the subtle nuances of the English language.

There are many different ways to learn a new language so I try to incorporate a variety of approaches in my lessons by making use of games, TED talks, pop music, pictures, literature, stories, expressions of speech, jokes, tongue twisters, role-play, movement, oral presentations, creative writing and quizzes.
